Eir is the goddess of healing and medicine. This ritual honors her skill and seeks her blessing for health, wholeness, and restoration.
Preparation
Gather: Green candle, water, healing herbs (chamomile, mugwort, rosemary), honey
The Ritual
1. Opening (1 minute)
“I kindle this flame for Eir, the Healer, keeper of health and wholeness.”
2-3. Grounding & Purification (1 minute)
“Jörð, I honor the body you hold. I cleanse myself of sickness and despair.”
4. Calling the Kindreds (1 minute)
“Ancestors, spirits, Shining Ones—I call upon Eir, the Wise Physician!”
5. Invocation (2 minutes)
“Eir, the Healer! You who know all the medicines and healing arts. I honor your wisdom and your compassion.
Bless me with health. Restore what is broken. Guide all healers in their work.”
6. Offering (1 minute)
Burn herbs and pour honey:
“I offer you healing herbs and honey. Accept this gift.”
7. Personal Prayer (3 minutes)
Ask Eir for:
- Physical healing and health
- Emotional wholeness
- Spiritual restoration
- Blessing for healers
8. Closing (1 minute)
“Eir, I thank you. I am healing and whole. So be it!”

Blót to Höðr: Honoring Winter’s God
Höðr is the god of winter, darkness, and blindness. This ritual honors the necessary darkness and seeks his blessing for inner reflection and acceptance.

Gather: Dark candle, water, dark bread or berries, something representing winter
The Ritual
1. Opening (1 minute)
“I kindle this flame for Höðr, the Blind One, god of winter’s darkness.”
2-3. Grounding & Purification (1 minute)
“Jörð, I honor the rest you provide in winter. I accept the darkness.”
4. Calling the Kindreds (1 minute)
“Ancestors, spirits, Shining Ones—I honor Höðr, the Dark God!”
5. Invocation (2 minutes)
“Höðr, the Blind One! Winter’s Lord! You who bring necessary cold and darkness. I honor your role in the turning wheel.
Teach me to find light within darkness. Grant me understanding through blindness. Help me rest and renew in winter’s embrace.”
6. Offering (1 minute)
Pour water and break bread:
“I offer you dark bread and water. Accept this gift.”
7. Personal Prayer (3 minutes)
Ask Höðr for:
- Acceptance of winter and darkness
