All place hands on earth with care

Jörð, you who provide all healing herbs and medicines! Your soil brings forth all that restores us. Bless this rite with the power to heal and restore.

We gather to honor Eir, goddess of healing and medicine. We come to celebrate the gift of restoration and wholeness, to seek her blessings on all who suffer and all who work to heal.

We seek her gifts of wellness, compassion, and the knowledge to heal ourselves and others.

The Fire

Ritual Leader lights fire with careful, controlled warmth

From Muspelheim comes sacred flame—warming and cleansing, promoting health and healing. This fire is Eir’s helper. Hail to the fire!

The Well

Ritual Leader pours clean water with reverent care

Mimir’s Well holds all healing waters. In these waters, all wounds are cleansed and all sicknesses are eased. Hail to the well!

The World Tree

Ritual Leader touches central pole with healing intention

Yggdrasil provides all healing herbs and medicines on its branches and in its bark. Eir knows every medicine the tree provides. Hail to the World Tree!

The Three Worlds

Through Eir’s healing, all worlds are made more whole. Sickness and suffering yield to her gentle power.

Heimdallr, we call upon you! Open the gates for Eir! The healing goddess approaches with her remedies and care. Let the passage be clear.

Come, honored ones! You who knew the old healing arts, who learned the use of herbs and wisdom! Come and share in this celebration of healing.

Come, spirits of healing plants! Spirits of spring and cure! Come and celebrate your lady’s power to restore.

The Shining Ones

Come, all the Powers! And especially you, Eir, healing goddess, come and know us as your people seeking wholeness.

For your knowledge of all healing arts. For your gentle touch that restores us to wholeness. For your compassion for all who suffer. For the herbs and medicines you guide us to find. For your steady work of restoration and healing.

Ritual Leader reads the omen with attention to health and restoration

Eir, what healing is needed? What restoration do you wish to bring to us?

The omen is read with focus on wellness and wholeness

Step 11: Calling for Blessings

Eir, we call upon your blessings! Bless us with health and vitality. Bless our wounds with swift and complete healing. Bless our efforts to care for ourselves and others.

Grant us the knowledge to recognize what needs healing. Grant us the skill and compassion to help others. Grant us your blessing, that we might move through the world more whole and more able to help others find wholeness.

Step 12: Hallowing the Blessing

Ritual Leader anoints each person with healing oil or touches them with care

By Eir’s healing, may you be blessed. Her wholeness flows through you. Her compassion dwells within you. Her skill guides your hands.

Step 13: Affirmation of the Blessing

We accept Eir’s blessings this day. We pledge to care for our health and the health of others. We pledge to use our knowledge in service of healing.

By the blessing of Eir, healing goddess, we are made whole and well this day and all our days.

Community may perform workings for personal healing, health, or healing of others

Now is the time for any workings. Call upon Eir’s power to bring healing and restoration to yourself or others.

Step 17: Thanking Earth Mother

Jörð, thank you for holding this rite, for bearing all healing plants. We return to you what is left.

Step 18: Closing the Rite

Ritual Leader places hands in prayer position over heart

The rite is complete. Eir’s blessing of healing settles into our hearts and bodies. Wholeness becomes our reality.
