Blót to Mani: Honoring the Moon God
Mani guides the moon through the night sky. This ritual honors his gentle guidance and seeks his blessing for dreams, inner wisdom, and safe passage through darkness.
Preparation
Gather: Candle, water, milk or wine, something silver if available
The Ritual
1. Opening (1 minute)
“I kindle this flame to honor Mani, the Moon God, who lights the night sky.”
2-3. Grounding & Purification (1 minute)
“Jörð holds me. I cleanse my inner vision.”
4. Calling the Kindreds (1 minute)
“Ancestors, spirits, Shining Ones—I call upon Mani!”
5. Invocation (2 minutes)
“Mani, Night-Driver, Moon-Lord! You who guide the moon through the darkness, pursued by the wolf Hati. I honor your steady journey and your gentle light.
Guide my dreams with wisdom. Illuminate the hidden paths of my soul. Keep me safe through the night.”
6. Offering (1 minute)
Pour milk and speak:
“I offer you milk, white as moonlight. Accept this gift.”
7. Personal Prayer (2 minutes)
Ask Mani for:
- Guidance in dreams
- Illumination of inner mysteries
- Safe rest and peaceful sleep
- Connection to intuition
8. Closing (1 minute)
“Mani, I thank you. Your light guides my way. So be it!”
