Týr the Brave
Týr is the god of war, but unlike Oðinn who rules the chaos of battle, Týr governs justice, order, and righteous combat. He is known for his wisdom in conflict and his unwavering commitment to maintaining cosmic order, even at great personal cost.
Sacred Story
Týr bound the great wolf Fenrir with the magical chain Gleipnir, knowing it was a trap from which the wolf could only escape at Ragnarök. As payment for his deed, Fenrir bit off Týr’s right hand. This sacrifice demonstrates Týr’s commitment to protecting the Nine Worlds and the order of creation.

In ADF practice, Týr is honored as a god of just conflict, oath-keeping, and moral courage. He is invoked by warriors, judges, and those who must make difficult decisions with integrity.
