Freyja the Radiant
Freyja is one of the Vanir and one of the most powerful and beloved goddesses of the Norse pantheon. She is the goddess of love, beauty, sexuality, and fertility, but also of warfare, death, and magic (seiĂ°r). She is generous in giving her gifts and fierce in defending those she loves.
Sacred Story
Freyja received half the warrior-slain in Ragnarok to her meadow-hall Folkvangr, sharing the glory of Valhöll with OĂ°inn. She weeps golden tears when separated from her beloved husband ĂĂ°r and travels the Nine Worlds seeking him. Her sacred necklace, Brisingamen, was won through trials and represents the culmination of beauty, craftsmanship, and virtue.
ADF Devotion
Freyja is honored as the patron of women, lovers, artists, warriors, and magical practitioners. In ADF rite, blĂłt to Freyja celebrates love, joy, creativity, and the fertility of all growing things. Offerings include honey-sweetened mead, flowers, and declarations of love and beauty in the practitionerâs life. Friggâs Day (FridayâFreyjaâs Day) is sacred to her.
