Frigg (sometimes spelled Frigga) is the queen of the Aesir and the goddess of marriage, motherhood, and domestic life. She is honored as protector of the home, childbirth, and family bonds. Her wisdom encompasses knowledge of all fates, though she keeps silent about what she knows.

Sacred Story

Frigg is the wife of Oðinn and mother of Baldr. When Baldr was threatened by Loki’s schemes, Frigg traveled to all corners of the Nine Worlds to extract oaths from every creature and plant that they would not harm her beloved son—all except the mistletoe, which she overlooked. Her grief at Baldr’s death shows the depth of her love and the tragic limits of even divine foresight.

She is invoked for safe childbirth, healthy families, and the bonds that hold community together.
