Njörðr the Wealthy
Njörðr is a Vanir god who brings prosperity through the waters and winds. He is the patron of sailors, fishermen, and merchants. Though he dwells among the Aesir as a hostage of peace after the ancient war between Aesir and Vanir, his Vanir nature makes him a god of gentle prosperity rather than struggle.
Sacred Story
Njörðr was given to the Aesir as a hostage of peace after the great war between Aesir and Vanir. He is married to Skaði, a giantess, though their marriage is complex—they dwell in different realms (sea and mountains) to avoid friction. Despite this separation, Njörðr is prophesied to survive Ragnarök and return with new blessings for the next creation.

He is invoked for safe passage, profitable ventures, and the generous sharing of wealth.
